a new year in film, same goal...

     Hello, my name is Andy and I'm a movie addict. Yes I admit it, movies are my addiction. While I've always enjoyed movies, it wasn't until 2004 that I realized I actually loved movies. Then in 2007 I was 100% certain that my love for movies wasn't going to pack up and leave anytime soon. Because I realized this, in 2007 I began for what is now one of my goals for every year since. Since the beginning of 2007, I have made it a yearly goal to watch every movie released. Now I know what you're thinking; "watching every movie released seems impossible!". Well, this is exactly why I have made a few rules when it comes to which movies I watch. First off, I of course have to watch every wide released movie. Then it is up to me which limited released movies I choose to watch. I usually decide based on film rating and the actors within the movie. The same rule goes for direct-to-dvd movies because let's face it, some direct-to-dvd movies are actually somewhat good. But most importantly, all Academy Award nominated films I have of course have to watch!

     Now it may seem that this goal may get rather boring especially when I have to see a film I would rather avoid at all costs, but believe it or not, I actually enjoy watching so many different movies. It allows me to have my own opinion for each one, rather it be good or bad movie. So since 2010 will be my fourth year with this goal, I have decided to blog about every movie I watch in 2010. Yes, EVERY movie. So wish my luck!
